Pekin Insurance Paper Billing

This project was completed for my User Research Methods class. As a group of 4, we completed 2 client projects for Pekin Insurance.

We focused on creating a paperless billing experience and designing a new customer portal.

Individually, I designed the report documents, created mobile designs, usability tested our prototype, and helped present our final designs to Pekin Insurance stakeholders.

Summary

Pekin Insurance Paper Billing

BACKGROUND

Pekin Insurance wanted more of their customers to adopt paperless billing statements. This involved creating an intuitive web portal to view billing statements and account information.

problem

Paperless billing statements save the company money, however, most customers prefer paper billing statements. The system needed to be intuitive enough for users to switch methods.

solution

Through this project, we interviewed users, discovered pain points and preferences, conducted a competitive analysis, created personas, made an empathy map, wrote user stories, designed mockups, created user flows, designed wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, user-tested clickable prototypes, and iterated on our designed based upon findings.

outcome

This project resulted in potential mobile designs for Pekin Insurance’s new portal. We reported all of our findings to the client at the end. Our work will help the company create this portal and save on costs.
